The owners in Lane Cove wanted privacy without losing light, so the viburnum hedge reduction was set at a height that screens the neighbouring property while still letting winter sun into the yard. Viburnum is vigorous and thickens back up quickly after a reduction, usually filling in within a couple of months. A follow-up trim is scheduled to hold the shape as the new growth comes through.
