Trachelospermum jasminoides
Star Jasmine is one of the most versatile hedge plants for Sydney gardens. Its dense, glossy green foliage clips neatly into formal or informal hedges, and through spring and summer it is covered in sweetly scented white star-shaped flowers. Supplied as advanced 300mm pot plants approximately 1.7m tall, it gives you an established, near-instant hedge for fence lines, boundaries and screening.

A glossy evergreen climber that clips beautifully into a dense, fragrant hedge. Masses of white star-shaped flowers in spring and summer, with lush foliage that stays deep green year-round — ideal for low to medium hedges, fence lines and screening in Sydney gardens.
Glossy evergreen foliage and masses of fragrant white flowers — Star Jasmine clips into a beautiful low to medium hedge.
A larger pot gives you a more established starting plant — not an instant hedge. Final density depends on spacing, the nursery batch and care in the first season.

The most common issues we see on Star Jasmine hedges around Sydney — how to spot them early, and what to do about them.

Signs: Clusters of tiny insects on soft new shoot tips, with curling or distorted leaves.
Remedy: Hose off or spray with insecticidal soap in the early morning; encourage ladybirds rather than blanket spraying.

Signs: Small brown oval bumps along stems, with sticky honeydew and ants attending the plant.
Remedy: Apply horticultural oil to smother the scale and repeat after three weeks to catch the next crawler stage.

Signs: Black dusty film on the leaf surface, usually following scale or aphid honeydew.
Remedy: Treat the sap-sucking pest first, then wash foliage with a soapy water solution; the mould clears as new growth comes through.
