Clumping golden canes and soft arching fronds — Golden Cane Palm grows into a lush tropical privacy screen.
A larger pot gives you a more established starting plant — not an instant hedge. Final density depends on spacing, the nursery batch and care in the first season.

The most common issues we see on Golden Cane Palm hedges around Sydney — how to spot them early, and what to do about them.

Signs: Small brown oval bumps on fronds and canes, with sticky honeydew and ants.
Remedy: Apply horticultural oil to smother the scale and repeat after three weeks to catch the next crawler stage.

Signs: White cottony clusters tucked where fronds meet the canes.
Remedy: Dab with methylated spirits on a cotton bud or spray with insecticidal soap; repeat weekly until clear.

Signs: Black dusty film on the fronds, usually following scale or mealybug honeydew.
Remedy: Treat the sap-sucking pest first, then wash foliage with a soapy water solution; the mould clears as new growth comes through.
